These are a few examples of the social media content that I created for Lovevery, a toy subscription start-up. For an easy DIY activity around 15-20 months, gather small, colorful sticks and a container with a soft plastic lid (reusing an oatmeal container is a great idea!) that you can cut holes into. The motion of pushing the sticks through the holes helps strengthen the small muscles that control the hand, fingers and thumb.👌 This strength and dexterity is essential for future tasks like writing, feeding oneself and buttoning! ✍️ #lovevery #loveverybaby #loveverytoddler #playtime #learningthroughplay #playtolearn #babysubscriptionbox #toddlersubscriptionbox #playkits #earlylearningprogram #sustainabletoys #babyeducation #toddlereducation #babydevelopment #toddlerdevelopment #smartbaby #smarttoddler #strongbaby #strongtoddler #babytoys #toddlertoys #educationaltoys #learningtoys #babymilestones #toddlermilestones #babyplay #toddlerplay #babyactivities #toddleractivities A post shared by Lovevery (@lovevery) on Sep 1, 2019 at 10:35am PDT View this post on Instagram Children have an easier time understanding an object’s shape and use before they can comprehend color. So while your toddler might be able to place a triangle in the correct spot on a puzzle, they probably don’t know what color the triangle is.🔷 ⠀ ⠀ 🤔 An easy way to help your toddler differentiate between shape and color is to use identical objects that are different colors, like this fun #DIY activity with popsicle sticks and felt pockets.⠀ ⠀ The pockets can be created by using fabric glue along the edges of two felt squares. You can find popsicle sticks at most craft stores.⠀ ⠀ At first, your toddler may be more focused on putting the sticks in the pockets and pulling them out. That’s great! They are strengthening those fine motor skills. 👌⠀ ⠀ Eventually, you’ll be able to hand your child a green popsicle stick and provide direction such as “Can you place this stick that is green in the pocket that is green?”💚⠀ ⠀ You can introduce this around 15 months, and it’s a fun activity that grows with your little one.😊⠀ ⠀ #lovevery #loveverytoddler #playtime #learningthroughplay #playtolearn #toddlersubscriptionbox #playkits #earlylearningprogram #sustainabletoys #toddlereducation #toddlerdevelopment #smarttoddler #strongtoddler #toddlertoys #educationaltoys #learningtoys #toddlermilestones #toddlerplay #toddleractivities #toddlerlife A post shared by Lovevery (@lovevery) on Sep 4, 2019 at 12:13pm PDT View this post on Instagram Reading to your baby not only establishes a love of reading, but those sweet bedtime stories help your baby’s brain develop! 📖 Most childhood development professionals believe reading to children in early infancy could lead to a higher IQ and more language fluency. 🧠 How? Books are a great way to expose your baby to new words that you might not commonly use! 💬 Books also introduce little ones to rhyming and rhythm, and different language structures than they usually hear. 👂 Even if your little one doesn’t show interest in books at first, keep reading to your baby every day. 📚 Your little one will begin to associate reading time with cozy time. Creating a habit of reading helps your baby develop a love of books, because your little one will associate it with being close to you and hearing your voice. ❤️ What’s your little one’s favorite book right now? #lovevery #loveverybaby #playtime #learningthroughplay #playtolearn #babysubscriptionbox #playkits #earlylearningprogram #playgym #woodenplaygym #babyplaygym #playmat #activitygym #activitymat #sustainabletoys #babyeducation #babydevelopment #smartbaby #strongbaby #babytoys #educationaltoys #learningtoys #babymilestones #babyplay A post shared by Lovevery (@lovevery) on Sep 15, 2019 at 10:25am PDT
